ten-years

Financial Career Move

As many of you know, 10 years ago, I was coaching Texas High School football and teaching 8th grade social studies. My schedule was brutal. I worked until 7 most nights and until 10 on Thursdays and past midnight on Fridays. Saturdays were spent in the film room and Sundays were for grading papers and player performances.

In college, when I waited tables, I would get these nightmares where I had dozens of tables at once. We called them “Chili-mares.” Even though there were certain aspects of teaching I loved, I would have similar dreams.

When Anne and I got married we knew something had to change. My friend from college was an advisor. It was intriguing to me.

I decided to make a career move.

It wasn’t until I started practicing as an advisor that I understood how rewarding this career could be. Those nightmares have stopped.

I’m grateful that I’m able to provide valued advice to families and businesses.

I have not done this alone. I’ve been mentored by and teamed with other advisors along that way which has taught me a lot about serving and creating value for clients.

And I would not where I am if you hadn’t put your trust in me along the way. For that, I’m forever grateful.

Here’s to another 10 years!
